Timber Sauna Co.

Next Steps

Here's what happens between placing your order and your first steam — from prepping your site to the day your sauna arrives.

Before Your Sauna Arrives

Get your site ready.

01

Foundation

Your sauna needs a stable, level base before it arrives. A wood deck, a poured concrete slab, or a gravel pad framed with treated 4×6 timbers all work great — pick whichever fits your site.

02

Electrical

Every model needs a dedicated circuit for the heater. Loop in your electrician early — we'll send over the heater manual so they have full specs ahead of time.

03

Choose Your Unloading Method

Your sauna arrives fully built, so it needs to be lifted off the truck and set onto your foundation. Pick the method that fits your site.

Option A
Crane

Best for tight access or a longer lift. We'll coordinate the date and time with your crane company.

or
Option B
Shed Mover

A good fit for most standard driveways and yards. Same coordination applies — we'll work around their schedule with you.

We're happy to share companies we've worked with in your area, but you're ultimately responsible for booking the crane or shed mover if we don't have a local recommendation.

04

Get It To Your Site

Your sauna ships from our shop to your address, or you can save on freight by picking it up yourself.

Option A
Third-Party Shipping

We coordinate freight through trusted third-party carriers. Cost varies by state and distance.

or
Option B
Warehouse Pickup

Pick up directly from our Lansing, Michigan warehouse — no freight cost.

After Your Sauna Arrives

From delivery to first steam.

05

Unloading & Placement

Your crane or shed mover sets the sauna directly onto your finished foundation.

06

Electrical Hookup

Your electrician connects the heater per the manufacturer's manual — the same one we sent over during planning.

07

Pack the Heater

Load the sauna stones into the heater following the manual's packing pattern — this is what gives you clean, even löyly.

08

First Fire Up

Run 1–3 break-in fires before your first real session. This burns off manufacturing residue and lets the wood and heater settle in.
